Editing the P2 card data (USB DEVICE mode/1394 DEVICE mode)
You can connect a personal computer to the unit using a USB cable (for a Windows machine) or a 1394
cable (for a Macintosh machine), and operate the image data on the unit’s P2 card from the computer.
Editing by means of external devices
Editing in the USB device mode.
Before editing in the USB device mode, refer to “The following conditions must be met when using a USB
connection” on page 52.

Hold down [POWER] for at least 2 seconds
to turn the power on.
The thumbnail screen now appears.

Press [MODE] to display the thumbnail
display off screen.

Press [MENU].

Using [STOP], [PLAY] and [STILL], select
“OTHER FUNCTIONS” – “PC MODE”, and
press [STILL].

Using [STOP] and [PLAY], select “USB
DEVICE”, and press [STILL].

Press [MENU] twice to display the thumbnail
display off screen.

Hold down [MODE] for at least 2 seconds.
After “USB DEVICE” is displayed, “USB
DEVICE CONNECT” is displayed once the file
access enable status is established.
• The mode cannot be changed or menus
displayed while the USB device mode is
established.

Edit the data on the P2 card using the
personal computer.

After the data has been edited, disconnect
the USB cable.
The display on the LCD monitor changes from
“USB DEVICE CONNECT” to “USB DEVICE
DISCONNECT.”
• When disconnecting the cable, perform the
“safe removal of hardware” procedure at the
personal computer.
