Transferring info from
another device
For information on transferring your info
from a previous Windows Mobile
®
device
or from a Palm OS ® by ACCESS device to
your new Palm ® Treo ™ Pro smartphone,
visit palm.com/treoproumts-support for
instructions.
IMPORTANT
Do not use a backup utility to
transfer your info from another device to
your new smartphone. This can cause your
smartphone to malfunction.
Reinstalling the
desktop software
If you have problems synchronizing using
your desktop sync software, you may need
to reinstall the software.
BEFORE YOU BEGIN
Make sure your
computer profile includes administrator
rights to install software. In large
organizations, these are usually granted
by the system administrator.
1 Shut down your computer and turn it on
again.
2 On your computer, click Start > Control
Panel > Add or Remove Programs .
3 Remove your desktop software. For
computers running Windows XP, the
software is called Microsoft ActiveSync.
For computers running Windows Vista,
the software is called Windows Mobile
Device Center.
4 Quit any active applications, including
virus scanners and Internet security
applications.
