The next generation of mobile Internet connectivity that allows for
persistent data connections as long as you are actively using your data connection.
The average data transmission rate is around 70kb/s although theoretical limits are
153.6kb/s. With PCS Vision plans, you pay a monthly rate for unlimited data
transfer and you don't pay for connection time.
Alt (alternative)
:
A keyboard key. Type a letter on the keyboard, then press
Alt
to access variations such as international characters and symbols.
Applications Launcher:
The view on your Treo from which you can launch all
applications.
Auto-off interval:
The time of inactivity that passes before the screen on your Treo
turns off. Wireless Mode is unaffected by this setting.
Beam:
The process of sending or receiving a data record or application using the
infrared port on your Treo.
HotSync:
The PalmSource technology that synchronizes your Treo and your
computer with the simple press of a button.
HotSync Manager:
The computer application that manages the synchronization with
your Treo.
Infrared (IR):
A way of transmitting data using light waves. The IR port on your Treo
lets you transfer data between other IR devices within a short radius.
Install tool:
The component of Palm Desktop software that enables you to install
Palm OS applications and data on your Treo.
