Setting flow rate for aerosol generator
The flow rate for the aerosol generator must be set such that a mass con-
centration in compliance with the standard EN 149 is achieved:
Target value for the mass concentration of saline aerosol:
8
mg/m
3
± 2 mg/m
3
(normal range: 4 – 12 mg/m
3
)
Target value for the mass concentration of oil aerosol:
20
mg/m
3
± 2 mg/m
3
(normal range: 15 – 25 mg/m
3
)
1.
Start the software
PMFT1000
.
2.
Press the key F12 (or Fn + F12 at the same time) to open the window
“Info” showing the mass concentrations.
3.
Read the parameter
factored(60 s)
.
4.
Check whether the value of the parameter FACTOR corresponds to the
calculated and saved factor.
5.
Open the menu
test bench
.
6.
Change the flow rate (parameter
generator flow sp
) such that the
target value for the calculated mass concentration is achieved (param-
eter
factored(60 s)
):
If the calculated mass concentration is too high:
Reduce the flow rate.
If the calculated mass concentration is too low:
Increase the flow rate.
7.
Write down the value of the parameter
generator flow sp
.
Repeating factor calculation
To verify the calculated and set value, repeat all of the steps beginning with
“Aerosol production without filter – first measurement.”
Save the set flow rate.
1.
Set the flow rates
main air flow sp
and
generator flow sp
to zero.
2.
Close the software
PMFT1000
.
3.
Open the file
PMFT1000_Flow.ini
and enter the value of the param-
eter
generator flow sp
in the section FLOW_SETTINGS as the
value for SALT or OIL.
4.
Save the file and close it.
