Flooring Requirements
This fireplace may be installed directly on a combustible floor. If the fireplace is to be installed directly
on carpeting, combustible floor tile or other combustible material other than wood flooring, the appliance
shall be installed on a metal or wood panel extending the full width and depth of the unit.
This fireplace may also be installed onto a raised platform above the floor. The platform must be solidly
built to support the applaince. The platform must be continues, extending the full width and depth of the
unit.
If a hearth extension is desired, combustible material may be used.
Caution: While a hearth extension is not required and combustible flooring materials
may be brought directly up to the fireplace, many materials (such as wood flooring) may
not tolerate the radiant heat from this fireplace, resulting in discoloration, shrinking and
cracking. For this reason, we suggest a non-combustible hearth in front of the fireplace.
