Issues with Windows 2000 and Windows ME
Our base software is fully compatible with Windows 2000 and Windows ME. The below guides show you
the exact configuration of these units.
Windows 2000 Configuration for Base Units
•
Make sure the IDR Base software is correctly installed
•
Right click on My Network Places and go to Properties
•
There should be a Icon My Network
•
Right Click on My Network and go to Properties
•
Click on Security
•
Make sure Advanced, Custom Settings is ticked
•
Click Settings
•
Data Encryption should be set for Optional Encryption
•
Under protocols, the only that needs to be ticked is Unencrypted Password (PAP)
•
Untick the rest
•
Click OK
•
An error will come up. Click Yes to the error.
•
Then click on Networking
•
Make Sure Internet TCP/IP is installed
•
Double click on Internet TCP/IP and make sure the IP Address is 10.10.10.10
•
Then click ok
•
Exit out of that. You may need to restart your unit.
•
Dial Up and enjoy the view.
Windows ME Configuration for Base Units
•
Make sure the IDR Base software is correctly installed
•
Go into the base software and try to make a connection to a site. This will not work. The idea of
this is to make a connection under Dial Up Networking Automatically.
•
Get out of the base software.
•
For running the unit over a network, the settings are the same as Windows 98.
For Modem….
•
Go to Start , Settings, Dial Up Networking
•
There should be a Icon My Network
•
Right Click on My Network and go to Properties
•
Click on Network
•
Click on TCP/IP. Put the IP Address in of 10.10.10.10.
•
Make sure that the other two protocols, Netbui and IPX/SPX is unticked
•
Ensure that PPP is selected.
•
Click OK
•
Exit out of that. You may need to restart your unit.
•
Dial Up and enjoy the view.
