EXTRA INFORMATION ON HDTV-DISPLAY SETTINGS: manual pages 16 to 18
There are now some new features for making the HDTV-display settings.
There are two on-screen menus, so you can make the settings more easily (and use
your remote control to do so), and there are extra settings for closed captioning.
Using the on-screen HDTV-display menus
Turn on the TV. To display the menu, shown right, on the TV screen,
press the
display
button on the front panel of your home terminal
(or press and hold the
#
key on your remote).
The menu items are listed on the left and their settings are listed on
the right. As you use this menu, you will see that the front-panel
display changes, as shown in the manual. To change the setting for an item, proceed as follows.
1. Press the front-panel
ch+
or
ch–
button (or the up or down arrow on your remote) until you
highlight the item you want.
2. Using the front panel or remote, press the
select
button (marked
+
on the front panel), to
highlight the setting for that item.
3. Press the front-panel
ch+
or
ch–
button (or the up or down arrow on your remote) until the
setting you want appears. (The current setting for each item is in brackets e.g.
<4:3>
.)
4. Press
select
on the front panel or remote to save the displayed setting as the current setting for
that item. (If you do not want to save the setting, press
exit
on the front panel or remote.)
To remove the menu at any stage and return the front-panel to its normal display (time or channel
number), highlight “Done” in the menu, then press
select
. You can also press
exit
until the menu
disappears and the front-panel display returns to normal.
To make the extra closed captioning settings, highlight “CC Config” then press
select
. A second
menu appears, as described overleaf.
