Turning closed captioning on and off
Closed captioning is a means of displaying alerts (for example, hurricane warnings) and subtitles on
your TV screen, superimposed on whatever you are watching. It is a good idea to have closed
captioning turned on, but, if you wish, you can turn it off.
To turn closed captioning on or off, you must use the
front-panel buttons
, not the remote control.

6. To change the status of closed captioning, display the setting you want on the front-panel display,
then press the “select” button (marked

) to save the setting. If you do not wish to make any
changes, press
exit
until the time or channel number appears in the display.
