Sawing
WARNING
•
The chainsaw operator must read and understand all of the user
manual before starting to use the chainsaw. This applies in particular
to the safety instructions. It is recommended that you practice at first,
sawing light tree trunks/stumps until you have mastered the use of
the chainsaw.
•
Always follow the safety instructions. The chainsaw may only be used
to saw wood. Cutting any other type of material is forbidden.
Vibrations and kickback are different, all depending on the type of
material and safety rules that are not complied with.
•
Do not use the chainsaw as a lever to lift, move or split objects. Do not
lock it in stands. It is forbidden to connect any tools or equipment to
the power shaft other than that specified by the supplier.
•
It is not necessary to force the chainsaw into the wood. A light press is sufficient
when the engine is operating at full throttle.
•
Should the guide bar become stuck in the wood, do not try to use force to pull it
out. Use a wedge or long shaft to open the cut in the wood.
Protect yourself against kickback
•
The chainsaw is equipped with a chain brake
which when operating correctly, stops the chain if
there is kickback. Check the chain brake function
every time before using the chainsaw and allow
the chainsaw to operate at full rpm for 1–2
seconds and then push the front handle guard
forward. The chain should stop immediately with
the engine on full speed. If the chain does not
stop immediately or not at all, then the brake belt
and drum coupling must be replaced before the
chainsaw is taken into use.
•
It is extremely important that the chain brake function is checked every
time the chainsaw is taken into use and that the chain is sharp in order
to maintain the chainsaw’s kickback protection. Removing safety
devices, insufficient maintenance or the incorrect replacement of the
guide bar and chain increases the risk of serious
personal injury because of kickback.
