User instructions
1.
Check that the motor stop switch is pressed in. Turn the red stop switch clockwise to
activate.
2.
If the hoisting speed is slowed or if the load is hoisted in a jerking fashion or not at all,
it is a sign of overloading. You will also be able to hear a certain amount of coupling
noise if the chain hoist is loaded in excess of the normal capacity. If this happens,
immediately release the “up” button to stop the equipment. Reduce the load to the
nominal capacity. Normal operation will continue automatically once the excess load
has been removed.
3.
It is not recommended that the chain hoist is used in applications where there is the
possibility of adding a load to an already suspended load, as this will cause
overloading. If the chain hoist is used in extreme ambient temperatures in excess of
40
o
C or under -9
o
C, this can lead to changes in the lubricant’s properties and cause
reduced efficiency and equipment damage or personal injury.
4.
The chain hoist is controlled using the control unit’s buttons. Press the “up” button to
hoist the hook towards the hoist housing and press the “down” button to lower the
hook down to the load/floor.
5.
The “up” and “down” buttons will control the chain hoist in the desired direction as
long as the respective button is pressed. If the button is released, the chain hoist will
stop.
6.
When you are preparing to hoist a load, check that the accessory to the hook is
securely attached in the hook. Avoid loading outside the centre of any kind, and
especially load on the tip of the hook.
7.
When hoisting, start by raising the load free of the floor and check that the hook and
load are correctly positioned. Continue to hoist when you are sure that the load is free
of any other obstacles.
8.
Never exceed the chain hoist’s capacity.
9.
Keep to a safe distance from the load and avoid moving the load above people. Warn
people that a load is being moved in their area.
10.
Do not leave a raised load unattended.
11.
Only allow qualified personnel to use the chain hoist.
12.
Do not wrap the chain around the load.
13.
Do not let the load lie against the hook safety. The safety is designed to hold the hook
in the correct position while the chain is slack before the hoist.
14.
Exercise caution when executing the hoist and avoid impacts or jerking on the chain. If
there are signs of overloading, immediately lower the load and remove the excess
load.
15.
If the emergency stop button is pushed in, the machine will stop.
