Inspection of hook
If the hook is damaged due to chemicals, deformations or cracks, it can be a sign that
the unit has been misused or overloaded.
Check to ensure that the hook safety is not damaged or bent and that it functions
correctly with sufficient spring pressure to hold the safety close to the lip on the hook
and that it springs back when released. If the hook safety does not function correctly,
it must be replaced.
Service of chain
The chain must be replaced if it is ascertained there are
hacks, wear, twisted links, welding splatter, pitting, stripes,
cracks in weld areas, wear and expansion.
Lubricate the chain using grease after 200 cycles.
The chain has a lifetime of 50,000 cycles.
Loosen the part of the chain that normally runs over the
pulley and check for wear. Measure and register the
diameter/thickness of the links and measure the same
areas on a link that does not run over the pulley (use the
chain link at the side of the free end link for this purpose)
and compare the two dimensions. If the diameter of the
worn link is 0.254 mm (or more) thinner than the non-worn
link, the chain must be replaced.
The chain is 3 m in length and has 157 links. See the specifications Figure 2.2.
Lubrication
The gears are packed with grease when assembled and must not be lubricated unless
the gears are removed from the housing and de-greased.
Bearings
Rotor bearings are pre-lubricated and do not require lubrication. Needle bearings are
packed with grease on assembly and do not require additional lubrication. But if the
housing or pulley has become de-greased, these bearings should be lubricated using
lithium grease.
