10.2 Meter Sizes 85 through 88
CAUTION: Be sure to follow the procedure given here, referring to the exploded view on
page 56 through 58.
10.2.1 Disassembly
NOTE: Special know-know is required for disassembly and reassembly of this
meter. Seek our service except in urgency or it is absolutely necessary.
Precautions at disassembly
(1) Two cranes or chain blocks are required for disassembly and reassembly.
(2) Mark the following mating surfaces with match marks (such as

Meter body and rear cover

Rear cover and blind cover
1. Front Bearing Assembly
(1) Shut off valves upstream and downstream of the flowmeter.
(2) Remove the drain plugs located at the bottom of the front and rear cover of flowmeter to drain off the
standing fluid inside.
(3) Remove the register assembly. Using hex key,
take off four bolts and, holding the register
assembly in the hands, separate horizontally.
The procedure remains the same as steps (3)
through (8) for meter sizes 82 through 84 on
pages 27 and 28.
(4) Remove the meter body from the piping
assembly.
(5) Take off four hex bolts securing the base and remove the base.
(6) Using the four eyebolts furnished, place the meter body upright with the front cover (102) up.
NOTE:
Provide a clearance 30 millimeters approx. between the rear cover and the floor and insert the base,
exercising care to place it on a level surface.
(7) Taking off hex bolts (122), remove adapter (104) and blind cover (105).
(8) Draw two bearing holders (208) out. To do this, use the two tapped holes provided for extracting the bearing
holders. Exercise care to avoid losing the O-ring (211) attached to the bearing holder.
The front bearing assembly is now ready for inspection.
2. To Inspect the Measuring Chamber
Following Section 1 above, proceed as follows:
(1) Taking off hex bolts (120) and hex nuts (128)
holding the front cover in place, separate the pin
retainer (108). Turning the locating pin nut (129),
extract two locating pins (107).
