6.6.2 Flanged Type
① Align the meter flange periphery with
the pipeline flange periphery and bolt
them together with hex bolts.
② It is preferable to use the flange gaskets
furnished with the meter.
CAUTION:
Do not use flange gaskets the I.D. of
which is smaller than the meter I.D. Do
not allow flange gaskets to protrude into
the meter body (pipe), or meter accuracy
will suffer.
6.7 Lagging Work
In steam service, the meter must be
i n s u l a t e d t h e r m a l l y . T o f a c i l i t a t e
maintenance and servicing, simple lagging
(without mortar finish) is suggested for the
area where the meter is installed.
CAUTION:
Lagging, if desired, should be separated
from the neck of preamplifier by the
distance given in the table below:
Type
Dim. “L”
Fixed sensor
50mm min.
Replaceable sensor
70mm min
6.8 Ambient Temperature
Given in Fig. 6.20 is the allowable process fluid temperature relative to the ambient temperature. Ensure that
the ambient temperature is held within the rating. If there is a possibility that the ambient temperature
exceeds the allowable limit, the following measures should be taken into consideration.
◦Avoid exposure to the direct rays of the sun.
◦Separate from piping and equipment of high temperatures or provide a heat shield.
◦Thermally insulate the preamplifier (in a low temperature environment).
If fluid temperature exceeds 125℃, the acceptable ambient temperature range is reduced as shown below.
