Installation
A. Electrical Connections
MAIN POWER CONNECTION
1.
Position unit in desired operating location.
Ensure
that minimum clearance requirements are met.
2.
Connect an outdoor rated extension cord to the
internal male receptacle inside the access panel
(
Image 5.1
).
3.
Turn fan control switch to the “ON” position. The fan
should be audible (
Image 5.2
).
4.
Press the “TEST” button on the internal GFCI
receptacle. The fan should shut off (
Image 5.3
).
5.
Press the “RESET” button on the internal GFCI
receptacle. The fan should turn on again (
Image 5.3
).
6.
Locate the extension cord out of high traffic areas to
limit unnecessary wear to the cord that can result in
power failure or electric shock.
(OPTIONAL) DIRECT SPARK IGNITION CONNECTION
If the Boreal Complete Heat was ordered with the Crystal
Fire Direct Spark Ignition System (CF-DSI), the
110VAC/3VDC power adaptor should already be
connected to the internal GFCI outlet. If it is not:

Locate the plug of the power adaptor.
8.
Connect it to the top receptacle of the GFCI outlet
(

(OPTIONAL) LED LIGHT KIT
If the Boreal Complete Heat was ordered with the
optional LED Light Kit (LIGHT-KT), the power transformer
should already be connected to the internal GFCI outlet. If
it is not:

Locate the plug of the power adaptor.
10.
Connect it to the bottom receptacle of the GFCI
outlet (

).
It is possible to hardwire the unit so that an outdoor
rated extension cord is not necessary.
This should
only be done by a licensed professional. Contact
manufacturer for supplementary hardwiring
instructions.
If either the CF-DSI or LIGHT-KT are installed on the
Boreal, please consult the individual product
manuals included with the appliance for questions
regarding those components.
