3) Attach the right side to the left side of the abdominal strap (see fig. 3). Ensure that the hook-
and-loop sections are lying flat against each other and are not in contact with clothing or skin.
4) Pull the end of the pull cable forward and attach it to the abdominal strap with the hook-and-
loop fastener (see fig. 4).

Optional – shortening the pull cable:
Pull the winding card out of the pocket (see fig. 5),
wrap the pull cable around the winding card (see fig. 6) and put the winding card back into
the pocket.

Optional – changing the direction of the pull cable from left to right:
The pull cable can
be changed from the left to the right side by rotating the brace by 180°. The back pad has to
be turned around in the process.
4.4 Optional – only 50R232 Smartspine LSO high: Remove components
The side plates, abdominal plate and back plate can be removed. The removal of the components
is directed by the physician.
Side plates
1) Open the hook-and-loop closures between the side plates and back plate.
2) Remove the side plates. To do so, pull the side plates over the abdominal plate (see fig. 7).
Abdominal plate
1) Open the hook-and-loop closures on the abdominal plate (see fig. 8).
2) Remove the abdominal plate.
Back plate
1) Open the hook-and-loop closure on the back plate.
2) Remove the elastic bands from the back plate (see fig. 1).
3) Close the hook-and-loop closures on the back plate.
4) Remove the back plate. To do so, pull the abdominal strap out of the back plate.
4.5 Cleaning

Damage to the product due to use of improper cleaning agents

Only clean the product with the approved cleaning agents.
Clean the brace regularly:
1) Remove all boards/plates.
2) Fasten all hook-and-loop closures.
3) Hand wash the brace in warm water at
30 °C
with standard mild detergent.
4) Rinse well.
5) Allow to air dry. Do not expose to direct heat sources (e.g. sunlight, stove or radiator).
