At 12 inches above the fireplace viewing area, maximum possible recess is 3

inches. A deeper recess will interfere with required

clearances to venting. Maximum possible recess increases at <12 inches above the viewing area when venting is offset (as shown

in diagram below).

NOTE: Vent clearances must be maintained. See “Vent Clearances” section for details.
