General description
General instructions
cpg
.0: GIS medium-voltage switchgear,
gas insulated, up to 40.5 kV,
in accordance with IEC Standard
Fuse compartment
The
cpg
.0-f fuse-protected cubicle has independent fuse
holders to house limiting medium-voltage fuses.
The compartments are pipe-shaped and are fully positioned
in the gas tank, meaning they are insensitive to pollution.
A carriage is used to extract and introduce the fuses in the
fuse carriers, thus simplifying operation and ensuring the
correct positioning of the fuse.
The pipe seal consists of an elastic membrane with the
following functions:
• To maintain the sealtight integrity of the fuse carriers
from flooding, and therefore avoid pollution and interior
degradation.
• Additional isolation provided by the isolation of the fuse
holder carriage itself.
• To transmit the movement of the fuse striker to the
switch tripping mechanism, while maintaining the
sealing of the fuse carrier.
By the very nature of its construction, this sealed solution
is subject to the internal overpressure caused by abnormal
overheating of the interior air. The trigger device can, in
this case, act as protection against overheating, preventing
damage both to the fuse and to the fuse carrier.

Exterior cable connections (bushing)
cpg
.0 cubicles have bushing on the front for medium-
voltage cable connection. These are made of epoxy resin
and can, thanks to their configuration, withstand the
current transformers. They are duly screened and designed
in line with Standard EN 50181, type "C".
They allow conductors to be connected via screwable
T-type connectors of any manufacturer.
The cable clamps in the cable compartment hold the
cables at their input to the cubicle and prevent the
connector and bushing combination from supporting
the weight of the cable.
If cable input/output is via a trench over 2 m deep,
the cables must be fastened with additional cable
clamps, depending on the depth of the trench and the
cable cross-section (weight), in order to prevent the
connector and bushing combination from supporting
the weight of the cable.
