Troubleshooting
General
Make sure that the telephone cable is undamaged and correctly inserted. Disconnect
any other accessories – extension cable and other telephones. If the telephone works
afterwards, this indicates that the fault is caused by another device. If these basic
diagnostics do not indicate where the problem is then call our Orchid Service Centre
helpline:- xxxxxxxx
Telephone number is not displayed
• The caller display must be supported by your network provider
Warning tone during a call
• The batteries are virtually empty
- Place the handset on the Charging Stand.
• The telephone’s range has been exceeded.
- Take the handset closer to the Base Station.
Note:
If the Base Station is switched to ‘Low Radiation’ the range will be reduced switch
to ‘Automatic’ to increase range.
The telephone will not work
• Make sure that the Power Adapter is inserted correctly into the Base Station and into
the socket and that it is switched on.
• Check that the telephone cable is inserted correctly into the Base Station and into the
telephone socket.
• Check that the batteries are charged.
• Connect another telephone to your line. If it works, this would suggest that your
telephone is probably faulty.
Note: The phone will not operate during a power failure.
The handset does not switch on
Ensure the batteries have been charged correctly
Check the Power Adapter’s connections
Use only the supplied rechargeable batteries
Make sure the two supplied rechargeable batteries have been properly inserted
Try removing the batteries – leave then out for 90 seconds and then replace them
Communication lost while a call is underway
Check the handset(s) battery is charged Check power is connected to Base Station Move
closer to Base Station
A new number cannot be stored in the phone book
Check if the phonebook memory is full; delete an entry to make space.
