Connect the power cord to the device. The Base Unit will vibrate and the
LED light will initially turn red. About 20 seconds later, the LED will turn
green.

About a minute after the device powers on, it announces: “OrCam
Software update will now begin. Please keep charger plugged-in until
update completes. Remaining time for update preparation [this many]
minutes.” You may hear a steady beeping sound indicating the software
update is in progress.
Note
: During the update process, the LED blinks red and green. As it is
updating, the device may announce the estimated time remaining.

Once the update is completed, the device announces "Welcome to
version 7 of OrCam. Your OrCam can now tell you the time and date
when you raise your wrist. All aspects of the device were improved as
well. Reading is more accurate and adds the ability to pause, rewind and
fast-forward. Face recognition is faster and more accurate. It now uses
higher quality images during the learning process; please press the
trigger button to restart.” Additional messages regarding learned faces
may be played as well.

Press the Trigger button and then the OrCam device will announce
"System will restart now, please wait" and will restart itself and repeat the
welcome message detailed above. Your device is now ready to use.
Verify that the update is complete
1.
If you wish, you can verify that the OrCam device has been updated. Turn
the OrCam device off and then on again as you normally would.
2.
Listen to the startup message to verify the current version of the OrCam
software: “OrCam Version 7 is ready. Battery is [this many] percent
charged.”
