3. OPERATING YOUR OPTIBIKE
Due to its greater speed and weight than a conventional bicycle, the
Optibike requires extra care and attention from the rider. Because
the Optibike looks like a conventional bicycle, cars and pedestrians
may misjudge your speed, leading to accidents. Pay attention and
ride defensively.
Wear a helmet at all times!
Laws concerning electric bicycles vary by city, state and country.
It is your responsibility to determine the electric bicycle laws for
the areas in which your bike is operated. Optibike assumes no
liability for use of your bike in violation of local laws.

GENERAL RULES:
When riding, obey the same
road laws as all other road
vehicles, including giving way
to pedestrians and stopping at
red lights and stop signs.
For

information,
contact the road or traffic
authority in your area.
Ride your Optibike predictably
and in a straight line. Never
ride against traffic.
Use correct hand signals to
indicate turning or stopping.
Ride defensively. To other
road users, you may be hard
to see.
Concentrate on the path
ahead. Avoid potholes, gravel,
wet road markings, oil, curbs,
speed-bumps, drainage grates
and other obstacles.
Cross train tracks at a 90-
degree angle or walk your
bicycle across.
Expect the unexpected, such
as opening car doors or cars
