8.12 Static
Routing
If the iConnect625W is connected to more than one network, you may need to set up a
static route between them. A static route is a pre-defined pathway down which network
information must travel to reach a specific host or network.
To enable
Static Routing
, follow the steps below.
Step 1
: From
the
Advanced
tab, click the
Static Routing
link provided. The following
page appears:
Step 2:
Select a connection type from the
Choose a Connection
drop-down list.
Step 3:
Enter the new destination IP for the remote LAN network or host to which you
wish to assign a static route in the
New Destination IP
field.
Step 4:
Enter a subnet mask in the
Mask
field or leave the default value
255.255.255.0
as it is.
Step 5:
Enter the IP address of the new device to connect to the remote network or
host in the
Gateway
field.
Step 6:
Enter a metric in the
Metric
field or leave the default value
0
as it is.
Step 7:
Click
the
Apply
button to apply the settings.
Step 8:
To save your configuration, please refer to the section under
Save / Restart
Menu.
