Safety and Installation Manual

 3.3

Fire Safety

➢

Follow all applicable standards and requirements for fire safety.

➢

The installation of a PV system on a building may affect fire safety. For roof

application, the  PV system must be mounted over fire resistant roof covering

rated for the application.

➢

Do not install or use PV modules near hazardous locations with

flammable gases.

Storage

➢

For transportation of Open Renewables

modules shall be on the original product packing.

➢

Store the products within the storage conditions limits.

➢

Secure modules against falling and scratching.

 4.2

Unpacking

➢

Please read, understand and follow the unpacking instructions, on this manual.

➢

Notice   that   the   packing   instructions   may   change   without   prior   notice,   therefore   you   should   consult   Open

Mechanical Installation

➢

Install the PV modules under a tilt angle of min. 15 degrees in order to allow any dirt being washed away from

rain.

➢

Use support structures specialized for PV applications and designed for local maximum wind and snow loads.

Ensure the PV modules are not subjected beyond the specified wind or snow loads.

➢

Ensure   PV   modules   are   not   subjected   to   excessive   forces   resulting   from   thermal   expansions   of   the   support

structure.

➢

The support structure must not cause any bending or twisting of the PV module.

➢

The   distance   between   the   rear   module   surface   and   the   roof   shall   be   at   least   100   mm   to   allow   for   proper

cooling.   A   minimum   clearance   between   PV   modules   of   at   least   1.0   cm   is   required   to   allow   for   thermal

expansion of the PV frames.

➢

Keep the rear surface of the PV modules free from any objects which could come into contact with the module,

particularly under mechanical load.

➢

Do not drill any holes on the frames. Modules equipped with 3

rd

generation frames do not have any pre-drilled

holes. Customers requiring pre-drilled holes should order them in advance.
