5. 1 Precautions for External Input Unit
WARNING
・ Do not apply an input voltage exceeding the rating to the BNC connector.
Applying an input voltage exceeding the rating may cause failure of the external input unit, electric
shock or damage.
・ Do not apply a voltage exceeding 42 Vpk between the BNC connector and the ground, or between
the ground of the BNC connector and the frame ground.
Applying a voltage exceeding 42 Vpk may cause failure of the external input unit, electric shock or
damage.
・ Do not input an external signal to the output channel of the DS - 0543 2ch External Input & 1ch Signal
Output Unit.
Inputting an external signal to the output channel may cause failure, electric shock or damage.
・ Do not cause a short circuit between the BNC connector output of the DS - 0543 2ch External Input &
1ch Signal Output Unit and the ground.
The occurrence of a short circuit may cause failure, electric shock or damage.
CAUTION
・ If the status LED of the DS - 0542/ 0543/ 0544 external input channel blinks or turns on in red, it
indicates that the voltage range is exceeded due to excessive input. The recorded data is
unreliable.
Set the appropriate voltage range on the O
- Solution side and then record data again.

・ Do not block the ventilation hole of the fan. It obstructs heat radiation. Blocking the ventilation hole
of the fan causes increase in the internal temperature, which may result in failure or malfunction.
There is also a risk of fire. Never block the ventilation hole.
・ Heat contained inside the system may cause fire. Install the unit in a well - ventilated place away from
walls.
・ Wind noise from the fan needs to be considered when recording sound data.
