PITCH ADJUSTMENT
Pitch Slide Control
The playback speed can be adjusted variably up
to ±100 % with the pitch slide control.
1
First select the adjusting range with the
button TEMPO RANGE. Each actuation of
the buttons switches the unit between 6 %,
10 %, 16 %, and 100 %.
•
The corresponding LED lights up.
•
When 100 % is selected, all LEDs light up.
2
Then slide up the pitch control to decrease
the pitch and slide it down to increase the
pitch.
• The display shows the percentage deviation
from the standard speed.
• The control locks into place in mid-position.
In this position a title is played at standard
speed.
3
Tip: Decreasing the playback speed to a
maximum of -100 % causes a standstill of
the title. This effect corresponds to the
stopping of an analog turntable.
4
Long actuation of the button TEMPO
RANGE deactivates the pitch slide control
and the control LED above the button
extinguishes.
Activating Master Tempo
With the change of speed, the tonal pitch is also
changed proportionally. However, with the Master
Tempo function activated, the tonal pitch will
remain constant. To activate the Master Tempo
press the button KEY LOCK (basic setting).
• The control LED above the button lights up and
the display indicates .
Matching the Beat Between Two Titles
(Pitch Bend)
With the function pitch bend, the beat of a title on
player 1 can be matched (synchronized) to the
beat of a title on player 2 or vice versa. Thus the
rhythm will not be interrupted while crossfading
from one title to another. Unlike the adjustment
with the pitch slide control this function will
temporarily increase or decrease a title's speed
during replay.
1
First use the pitch slide control to adjust the
same number of beats (BPM) for both music
pieces.
2
Select the operating mode Pitch Bend for the
jogdial with the button JOG MODE. Then
synchronize the beats of the two music
pieces by turning the jogdial.
• The change of speed depends on the turning
speed of the jogdial: Rotating the dial in a
clockwise direction will increase your title
speed and rotating the dial in a counter-
clockwise direction will decrease your title
speed.
• As soon as you stop turning the dial the BPM
will automatically return to normal.
3
Tip: If the wheel is continuously turned in a
counterclockwise direction, the playback
speed will decrease to a maximum of
-100 %, i.e. the standstill of the title. This
effect corresponds to the stopping of an
analog turntable.
4
Alternatively to the jogdial, you can also use
the buttons PITCH BEND for matching the
beat.
• As long as the button [+] or [–] is kept
pressed, the title is played faster or slower.
The deviation from the standard speed can
be adjusted in the system settings.
• As soon as you release the buttons PITCH
BEND the BPM will automatically return to
normal.
