ETTING THE

RIGGER
S
YSTEM
The trigger determines when the acquisition and display of waveform data occurs. When
starting to acquire data, the oscilloscope collects sufficient information to draw the
waveform at the left side of the triggering point. While waiting for a triggering condition,
the oscilloscope gathers data continuously. After a trigger is detected, the oscilloscope
gathers data continuously to draw the waveform at the right side of the triggering point.
To set a trigger mode, perform the following steps:
1. Press
the
MENU
key; the function menu will appear at the right of the screen.
2. Press
MENU

to select
TRIG MODE. Five (5)
selectable options will
then be available at the bottom of the screen.
3. Use the soft-keys (
F1
to
F5)
to select and configure the desired options.
4. Press OPTION; the following will appear on the display during edge triggering and
video triggering modes:
—
Time — Time Base
— Trig — Trig
During alternate triggering the following will be displayed:
—Time Base — Time
—Trig1 — Trig2
5. Press

to adjust the vertical trigger position, Press

to adjust the time base horizontal position or adjust the
horizontal position.
