3-9 Pre-operation/post-operation inspections
NOTE
●
When inspecting the insertion tube, be sure to hold it at a point behind the angulation
section. Otherwise, the angulation section may be damaged.
●
Also, be sure to check the inspection items after using the instrument.

discovered
Overall
Are foreign objects such as dirt or sand attached to the LCD
monitor, insertion tube or doors?
See “Storage and
maintenance” (page 95).
Are there cracks or scratches on the LCD monitor, insertion
tube or doors?
Replacement required.
Contact Olympus.

exterior materials, buttons, joysticks, or levers?
Battery
Any fluid leakage, deformation, cracks or other abnormalities
of the battery?
Contact Olympus.
Insertion tube,
angulation
section, distal
end
Any looseness in materials other than the angulation
section?
See “Storage and
maintenance” (page 95).
Any dirt or water droplets on the objective lens of the distal
end?
Continued use in this condition creates the risk of damage
to the optical adapter and/or distal end.
Any build up of dirt on the optical adapter positioning groove
or screw threads of the distal end?
Any distal end deformation or looseness, or unusual wear of
connecting screw thread?
Never use the instrument while there is any looseness on
the distal end. Otherwise, the loose parts may fall off.
O-ring
Is the O-ring missing, broken, etc.?
If the O-ring is detached or broken, water may enter through
the joint between the distal end and the optical adapter,
and this may result in the malfunction or damage of the
unit.
