3.6.7 - Operation in “Spa” mode
• In this mode the unit’s temperature is regulated according to the room’s temperature. The fan speed is
also regulated according to the temperature setpoint (except in dehumidification mode).
• To activate this mode, press the
B5
button on the remote control until the
D5
symbol appears on the
display.
3.6.8 - Operation in “Heating” mode (heat pump models only)
• When the unit operates in heating the refrigeration system is in “reverse cooling” mode.
• To activate: Press the
B5
button on the remote control until the
D1
symbol appears on its display.
• In this mode, the required temperature and fan speed can be set by the user. After a maximum of 3 min-
utes the compressor will start and the unit begins heating the space.
The unit will need to periodically enter defrost mode. During this operation the unit
does not heat the room, though its internal parts remain on except for the room
air fan. When the outdoor temperature is very low, there may be a slight delay as
the unit goes from minimum to maximum speed from when the command is sent
to the unit from the remote control. Similar delays might occur on activating the
swinging function of the mobile baffle. After having turned off the unit, the internal
fan runs for a brief period before stopping, then both air flaps close.
May be equipped with a electric heater that activates automatically as a back up
source of heat to the compressor, when operating in low ambient external
temper-atures.
The electric back up heat can be configured in the field in 5 F degree increments
to activate based on a specific external ambient temperature between 5 F and 55
F. The unit comes with a factory default setting of 45 F.
3.6.9 -
Checking airflow direction
• Press the
B4
button on the remote control to activate/deactivate the continuous oscillation of the moving
air outlet deflector (fig.A - ref. 1).
• When continuous oscillation is active, an additional press of the button
B5
allows to lock the deflector so
as to obtain the desired vertical direction for the air flow.
The moving deflector flap must never be forced manually.
3.6.10 - Checking fan speed
• The fan speed check occurs through button
B2
(on the remote control).
• Pressing this button several times will cause speed to change according to the following sequence:
Low > Medium > High > Auto
• Higher fan speeds provide greater capacity with a corresponding increase in sound.
• In Auto mode the unit adjusts the fan speed. The higher the difference between the room temperature
and the user selected setpoint, the higher the speed.
• As the room temperature nears the setpoint, fan speed is reduced automatically.
• In dehumidification mode, it is not possible to control the speed as the unit can only operate at low speed.
