Windows Vista
Windows Server 2003
Windows Vista
1.
Select [Start] > [Control Panel] > [View network status and tasks] > [Manage network connections].
2.
Double-click [Local Area Connection], and then click [Properties] on the [Local Area Connection Status]
screen.
3.
When the [User Account Control] screen is displayed, click [Yes].
4.
Check that [Internet protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4)] is displayed.
5.
Click [Property] in [Internet protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4)], and then check that the values for [IP
Address], [SUBNET MASK], and [Default Gateway] are correct.
When you specify the printer's IP address during setup, do not assign "0" to the beginning of each octet. Set, for example, as
"192.169.1.2". If the address is set as "192.169.001.002", data cannot be printed correctly. This is due to the Windows Vista
specifications.
6.
In the [Printers] folder, right-click the icon for the printer you are using, select [Property], click
[Configure Port] on the [Ports] tab, and then check that the value for [Printer Name or IP Address]
matches the printer's IP address.
For a small network, set as follows:
[IP Address]
Windows 192.168.0.3
Printer 192.168.0.2
[SUBNET MASK]
Windows 255.255.255.0
Printer 255.255.255.0
[Gateway]
