1. Base Frame
i.
Locate the 90mm x 63mm timbers to construct the base frame.
ii.
Check the base layout drawing in the part document.
iii.
Measure and mark the offsets and centres for each beam along the
front and back rails. (Fig. 1a)
iv.
Countersink drill 2No 4mm pilot holes for each centre beam.
v.
Fix the beams to the front and back rail using 2No 70mm screws at
both ends of each of the centre beams. (Fig. 1b)
vi.
Use a spirit level to check the frame is level on all sides.
vii. If it is not level pack the underside of the base as required until all
sides are level. It is important that the frame is completely level before
continuing with the installation.
viii. If the sauna is being installed in an exposed area to be affected by
high winds you may wish to fix the frame to the ground. Use 4No L
brackets supplied.
1.1 Base Ply
i.
Locate the 20mm plywood sheets.
ii.
Arrange the boards on top of the frame as per the drawing in the part
document.
iii.
Countersink drill holes into the top of the ply sheet at regular intervals
in line with the beams beneath.
iv.
Fix the ply sheets onto the base frame using 50mm screws. (Fig. 2)
1.2 Base Rails
i.
Locate the 32 x 32mm section base rails
ii.
Fix along the outer edge of the ply sheet using 50mm screws (Fig. 3)
