15.1 Additional Floor Covering (optional)
If you are intending to fit an additional floor covering on top of the timber sheet provided (i.e.
timber cladding, tiles etc) now is the time to install this before the benches go down. Note that
this sauna does include a timber floor mat for the area in front of the benches. This will be
installed later.
15.2 Bench Rails
i.
Bench end rail are fixed with 40mm screws (Pilot drill and countersink). See Fig
15
a for
heights. Use a spirit level to ensure the rail is straight before fixing to the wall.
ii.
Support the rails with legs made from 19 x 19mm corner mould. These legs should be cut
to size once the rails have been fitted to ensure they reach floor level. Fix in place using
40mm screws with pilot holes and countersink.
iv.
Note: The strength of these fixings is critical to hold up the weight of the bench and
bathers.
15.3 Cornice, Skirt and Corner Mould
i.
Pin the 62 x 9mm cornice trim around the top of the wall panels.
ii.
Pin the 54 x 9mm skirt around the bottom of the wall panels. Measure and cut
to allow for the bench rail supports.
iii.
Pin the 19 x 19mm corner mould vertically in the corners. Measure to allow for
the bench rails.
