4K1: Fresh Water Fill Location
There is a single water tank filled by one fill: The fill is just
even with the forward edge of the cockpit to starboard near the side
gunwhale. Stop filling as soon as you hear the water coming up the
tank standpipe.
You can check the water level with the Computank unit.
4K2: Fresh Water Heater
After the water pump, water is distributed directly to the cold water faucet lines. In
addition, it goes to the boat's water heater. The heater uses three energy sources, (1) heat from
the engine, so that whenever the boat is running, or has recently run, there is hot water; and (2)
120 volts AC from shore power or generator, if available and the heaters' AC breaker is "on"
and (3) heat from the Diesel Furnace. The heater is insulated well enough to keep hot water
overnight without power, provided you haven't wasted a lot.
The hot water heater’s breaker in
the AC breaker panel should only be on when there is 220-volt power available and hot water
will be needed.
4K3: Fresh Water Pump
The water line from the tanks leads to the boat's fresh water pump, a Shurflo Smart
Sensor pump at the aft engine room bulkhead aft of the starboard engine.
Provided the "F.W. Pump" circuit breaker is "On", the pump will run whenever its built-in
pressure switch detects low water pressure.
Because the watermaker automatically flushes its membranes on a regular
basis using water from the boat’s tanks, the fresh water pump should be left
on all the time to allow it to get the necessary water for that process!
4K4: Fresh Watermaker
The boat carries a Spectra Watermaker. This
great system (which requires AC & DC power to
operate) has the following features:
!
It automatically flushes itself on a regular
basis to keep the filtration membranes clean
and in service;
!
It has automatic controls that run it for
specific periods so that you need not worry
about overfilling tanks and wasting water;
!
It assures you that there will always be plenty
of water, however it will take several hours to
top off the tank under normal use.
Water fill cap.
The watermaker control is inside the power cabinet by the aft S/R
stairway.
