Ship Emulation
Entering the menu user should select the channel for testing (A or B).
Virtual
ship
emulation
procedure
is
performed as follows:
Tester sends the message 1 with the tester’s
MMSI code and increased on about 0.1 nautical
mile to the last received message coordinates.
As a result the virtual ship with a little different
coordinates should appear on tested AIS station
LCD.
After pressing
Enter
, a message
“Wait !”
will
appear on the screen. The message transmission
will be performed after the audio signal.
NOTE: It is important to receive at least one
message in
AUTO TEST
mode or
AIS
MONITOR
mode and only then one should
perform
the
ship
emulation.
The
synchronization of the Tester and AIS station
as well as the definition of virtual ship
coordinates are required.
