INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
The helmet can be used in eight different configurations. As a matter of fact, the latter
features three elements (visor, removable protective chin guard and peak) which can be
assembled on the product jointly, in pairs, separately or be removed altogether (Fig.1).
Using the helmet in the configuration - with chin guard fastened and visor pulled down
- obviously offers the highest level of protection as compared to other configurations.
The covers of the chin guard fastening slots (which must be fixed should the helmet be
used without the chin guard) and the side plates (which must fixed should the helmet
be used without the visor) are provided in the box.
REMOVABLE PROTECTIVE CHIN GUARD
1 RELEASING THE REMOVABLE PROTECTIVE CHIN GUARD
1.1 Open the visor completely.
1.2 Push the right and left chin guard release levers downwards and simultaneously
remove the chin guard from the helmet by pulling it outwards (Fig.2).
Warning:
whenever you wish to release the chin guard to use your helmet in the
jet configuration, insert the right and left chin guard locking slot covers (chin guard
covers) into the respective slots on the right and left side frames and push them
towards the inside of the helmet until you hear a fastening click (Fig.3).
The right and left chin guard covers are different from each other and they are
marked at their rear part as “R” (right) and “L” (left).
2
FASTENING THE REMOVABLE PROTECTIVE CHIN GUARD
Before fastening the chin guard to the helmet, remove the chin guard covers by per-
forming the following operations:
2.1 Open the visor completely.
2.2 Remove the right and left chin guard covers by pulling them outwards (Fig.3).
2.3 Insert the right and left chin guard ends simultaneously into the slots on the cor-
responding side frames of the helmet and press the chin guard towards the inside
of the helmet until you hear the fastening click on both sides (Fig.4).
2.4 Make sure the chin guard is correctly fastened at both ends by gently pulling it
towards the outside of the helmet.
WARNING
-
Never remove or disassemble the semi-rigid inner padding of the protective chin
guard.
-
When the helmet is used without the removable protective chin guard, always
assemble the chin guard covers supplied.
-
If in doubt on how the manual chin guard release device works, please contact a
Nolangroup authorized dealer.
PEAK
The peak comes in two sizes, depending on the size of the shell:
-
Small (for sizes XXS to M)
-
Large (for sizes L to XXXL)
Should you buy the peak as a spare part, we kindly request to check the correct size of
the peak from a Nolangroup authorised dealer.
The peak can be adjusted in different positions by rotating it upwards or downwards
(Fig.5).
1
ADJUSTING THE PEAK
1.1 Loosen the tightness of the upper central threaded cover plate “A” by rotating it
counter-clockwise (Fig.6).
1.2 Rotate the peak around the side cover plates “B” to adjust it to the desired posi-
tion (Fig.5).
1.3 Lock the peak in the desired position by tightening the upper central threaded
cover plate “A” (Fig.6).
2
DISASSEMBLING THE PEAK
2.1 Release the bayonet side cover plates “B” by rotating them by 90° so that the
side ends of the peak are detached from the helmet shell (Fig.7). Be careful not to
lose the two trims positioned between the peak and the shell, which must remain
hooked to the cover plates (Fig.8).
2.2 Completely unscrew the upper central threaded cover plate “A” by rotating it
counter-clockwise (Fig.6). Remove the peak from the helmet, being careful not to
lose the trim of the upper central threaded cover plate “A” positioned between the
peak and the shell (Fig.9).
3
ASSEMBLING THE PEAK
Ensure that the side cover plates “B” and the corresponding internal trims are correctly
hooked to the peak as in the beginning (Fig.8).
3.1 Position the trim of the upper central cover plate “A” at the threaded hole (Fig.9)
and place the peak on the shell; then insert the upper central threaded cover plate
“A” into the hole and screw it by rotating it clockwise without tightening it com-
pletely (Fig.6).
3.2 Insert the left side cover plate “B” into the corresponding seat on the shell and lock
it by rotating it by 90°. Repeat the operation on the other side of the helmet (Fig.7).
3.3 Complete the adjustment of the peak position as instructed previously.
WARNING
-
Ensure that the latches and their internal trims, which are interposed between the
peak and the shell of the helmet, keep the peak steady in the desired position.
-
Do not use the helmet before assembling and adjusting the peak properly.
-
Do not install the peak without the internal trims of the cover plates.
-
The peak can be assembled over the visor or, in absence of the latter, over the side
plates.
-
If the peak is assembled over the visor, check for proper functioning of the visor by
pulling it up and pulling it down completely.
- The peak comes with special internal spacers, suitable for reducing the risk of
damaging the visor during the last stage of its opening; do not remove these spac-
ers from the peak.
