This chapter will cover
viewing Log
files, configuring for a
Syslog Host
, and
IP Logging
options.
Enabling IP Logging
1.
After logging into the InterLynx/TS, click on the
Logs
button on the left side of the screen. This will
open the
IP Logging
page.
2.
The first step in setting up the logging on the InterLynx/TS is enabling
IP Logging Options
on one or
both of the network interfaces. It is recommended that
IP Logging
be enabled on the Internet interface.
Check the box to the right of the interface and then press the
Apply Changes
button.
Be certain to
Save Settings to Flash
if you want them to be permanent.
Viewing Logs
Logs can be viewed the following two ways:
•
Choose Log:
a.
All –
shows the boot up messages as well as all IP traffic for the enabled interface.
b.
IP Log –
shows all IP traffic for the enabled interface.
c.
IP Frag –
shows fragmented packets that reached the interface.
d.
Spoofed Addresses –
private IP Addresses(spoofed addresses) trying to access the internal
network via the Internet will be logged.
e.
PROTO=TCP
– shows only TCP packets in the log for the enabled interface.
f.
PROTO=UDP –
shows only UDP packets in the log for the enabled interface.
g.
PROTO=ICMP –
shows only ICMP packets in the log for the enabled interface.
