To carry out simplified calibration, follow the procedure described below.
Since the following is a simplified procedure, we recommend that the instrument be sent
back for annual maintenance.
A password is required to proceed to the simplified calibration. Consult with our agent or
service department.
6.5.4.1 PROCEDURE FOR PREPARATION OF STANDARD GAS
To prepare the standard gas, the calibration kit CK-1 (option) is needed.
Instead of the PS-4 (instrument for collection of mercury in gas), it is possible to use a pump
that can suck at 1 L/min. and has a flow control function with precision of +/-5% or more.
(1)
Adjust the flow rate of the PS-4 (or pump) to 1 L/min. beforehand. After the flow rate
adjustment, turn off and on the power.
(2)
Connect the kit for calibration as shown below. Open the faucet.
(3)
Set the timer of the PS-4 (or pump) to three minutes, and start it. Make sure that the flow
rate is 1 L/min.
(4)
Extract mercury gas from the standard gas box MB-1 using a gas syringe.
Insert the syringe into the extraction port, make the piston go up and down two to three
times for smooth movement, and extract the necessary quantity (3 mL).
*
Record the temperature at the time of the gas extraction. It is necessary to calculate
the standard gas concentration.
