Notes About Setting Exposure
When the subject is too dark or too bright, it may not be possible to obtain the appropriate
exposure. In such cases, the shutter speed indicator or f-number indicator flashes (in

modes), or the exposure indicator is displayed in red (in

mode) when the shutter-
release button is pressed halfway. Change the shutter speed setting or f-number.

Setting Exposure During Movie Recording
When recording movies in

mode, the shutter speed and f-number settings
are not applied.
Exposure Indicator (When in
D
Mode)
The degree of deviation between the adjusted
exposure value and the optimal exposure value
measured by the camera is displayed in the
exposure indicator on the screen. The degree of
deviation in the exposure indicator is displayed in
terms of EV (–2 to +2 EV in increments of 1/3 EV).
