NI PXIe-4154 Calibration Procedure
Figure 4.
Current Verification Connection Diagram with 100
Ω
Precision Shunt
Note
Use separate twisted-pair cables for connections from and Output -
to the external DMM. Refer to Figure 1 for a connection diagram.
Refer to Table 3 for the current test points that you must request and measure for each range to
complete verification. For example, the 30 mA range on Channel 0 requires the verification
application to separately request 30 mA, 22.5 mA, 15.0 mA, 7.5 mA, and 0.1 mA outputs from
the NI PXIe-4154 while setting the voltage level to its maximum value. Take measurements
using the DMM as a voltmeter at each point, dividing by the characterized value of the precision
shunt each time.
Note
After requesting a new current, wait one second to take a measurement with
an external DMM to ensure the system has adequate time to settle.
Note
Total output current for both channels combined cannot exceed 3.1 A. Thus,
the current test points for each channel—current limits when in Constant Voltage
mode or the current levels when in Constant Current mode—must add up to no more
than 3.1 A.
