B3 Insert symbology name
Insert the name of the barcode’s symbology in the output message, without moving the cursor.
B4 Insert barcode length
Insert the barcode’s length in the output message, without moving the cursor. The length is expressed as a
numeric string and does not include leading zeros.
B3 and B4 Example: Insert the symbology name and length
Send the symbology name and length before the barcode data from the barcode above. Break up these
insertions with spaces. End with a carriage return.
Command string: B3F42001B4F42001F10D
B3 is the “Insert symbology name” command
F4 is the “Insert a character multiple times” command
20 is the hex value for a space
01 is the number of time the space character is sent
B4 is the “Insert barcode length” command
F4 is the “Insert a character multiple times” command
20 is the hex value for a space
01 is the number of time the space character is sent
F1 is the “Send all characters” command
0D is the hex value for a CR

B5 Insert key strokes
Syntax=B5nnssxx (nn: The number of keys pressed (without key modifiers); ss: the key modifier from the
table below; xx: the key number from the “Unicode Key Maps” in Appendix.)
Insert a key stroke or combination of key strokes. Key strokes are dependent on your keyboard (see the
“Unicode Key Maps” in Appendix). This command can only be used with USB HID-KBW.
