Power Management & Screensavers
The use of power management tools or third party screensavers may affect the
performance of the
NBS LOCAL CONTROLLER SOFTWARE
.
Any power management software should be disabled prior to loading the software
,
and third-party screensavers (other than those provided with the original Windows
®
package)
should not
be used
.
NOTE:
For Windows NT
®
4.0 and Windows
®
2000, users must be logged on with
Admin rights in order to successfully install any software.
6.2
Installing NBS Local Controller Interface Software
1. Insert the NBS Local Controller Software Disk into your disk drive.
2. From the
File
menu in
Program
Manager
, use the mouse to click on the
Run
command.
3. In the Command Line box, indicate the letter of the drive where the installation disk
has been inserted: if you inserted the disk in Drive A, type A:\SETUP or if you
inserted the disk in drive B, type B:\SETUP .
4. Click on the
OK
button or press the
Enter
key.
5. The Windows “Initializing Setup” message appears on the screen.
6. The setup screen appears. Follow the instructions on your screen for setup and
installation.
7. The configuration software creates a directory on your hard drive called
BCLOCAL
.
8. The configuration software asks you to select a serial communication port for the
CONTROLLER. Select COM1 or COM2 and then click the
Continue
button.
The configuration software begins to copy the files from the disk drive to the
directory that it created (
C:/BLOCAL
) on your hard drive. When the installation is
complete, the NBS Program Group is created.
9. Double click on the NBS Program Group to open the group.
If the installation was successful
, a message appears on your screen and you will be
prompted to exit Setup.
If the installation was unsuccessful
