Note: ARP commands can only be used to set a static IP address on GW5120

arp –a
command shows the current mapping IP and MAC addresses.

arp –s
“IP address” “MAC address” maps the IP address to specify MAC address.
3.2.2. Configure IP by Web interface
Use Web browser such as Microsoft Internet Explorer to configure the network settings of GW5120.
Enter
IP address
(default IP: 10.0.50.100) of GW5120 on the browser address bar. Enter
user name (default:
admin)
and no password (leave it blank).
Configure IP settings under
Network
section.
click
Save
to save settings, and ”
Restart
” on the followed page to take effect.

3.2.3. Configure IP by Telnet utility
Use Telnet utility such as Microsoft Hyper-terminal to configure the network parameters of GW5120.
Run command
telnet “IP address
” to telnet to GW5120.
Default IP address is 10.0.50.100
and no password
(leave it blank).
Configure IP settings from
network settings
menu.
Restart
system to take effect after new settings are saved.

3.2.4. Auto IP with DHCP
GW5120 can obtain network configuration such as IP address, Gateway address and subnet mask
from DHCP server. By default, the DHCP client function is disabled on GW5120, user can activate
the DHCP functions by the following steps.
Execute
SerialManager
utility
Click on the
IP address
(of GW5120)
Click “
Config
” to pop-up the static IP Dialog Window
Check on ”
Auto IP
”
Click “
Config Now
” (GW5120 will restart and obtain the IP from the DHCP server
automatically)
3.3. TCP/IP Port Number
The default TCP/IP port numbers of serial port is
4660
(1
st
port) &
4661
(2
nd
Port), and it is associated
with the serial port
COM1
and
COM2
on configuration menu. After the Ethernet connection is
established to GW5120 with TCP port 4660 (or 4661), the data of user’s application are transmitted
transparently to GW5120 and vice versa.
