Logging On
Log onto the BBS as follows.
1.
From the Windows desktop, click the
Start
button.
2.
Point to Programs. Point to Accessories and then click
HyperTerminal
.
3.
Double click the
Hypertrm.exe
icon. The HyperTermi-
nal program appears.
4.
Follow the instructions on the screen to set up your mo-
dem. Click the
HyperTerminal
help button for informa-
tion about dialing the phone number.
If you need to check communications settings, check that
the settings match the following BBS parameters.
Baud rate: select any baud rate that matches your
modem
Parity: none
Data bits: 8
Stop bits: 1
Flow control: Xon/Xoff (select Hardware if using
14.4 bps or higher).
5.
Following the HyperTerminal instructions, enter the
BBS phone number (978-635-4706). Your business
phone system and/or location might require a 9 1 or 1
prefix.
NOTE
The first time that you use the BBS, you are
requested to provide information for a new user
questionnaire.
