Maintaining Your Printer 9–9

Cleaning
Conditions

Please follow the recommended approach when
cleaning the printer:

Switch off the printer and then pull off the power
cord from the printer.

The fuser unit is extremely hot. After switching
off the power, let the fuser unit cool down first
before cleaning it.

Do not stand a toner cartridge on end or leave it
in an upside down position.

Do not expose the detached toner cartridge to
direct sunlight or place it in a dusty area. Put it
on a flat surface.
