5-4 Solving System Problems
Are all the PCI/ISA option boards fully seated in their
connector slots on the system board?
Are all jumper settings on the system board correct? For
jumper information, see the “Configuring the System”
chapter?
Are all jumpers and switch settings on option boards and
peripheral devices correct? To check these settings, see the
respective appendices. If applicable, ensure that there are
no conflicts; for example, two option boards sharing the
same interrupt.
Are the processors fully seated in their slots on the system
board? Refer to Chapter 4, “Installing Options” for
installation instructions.
Are all DIMMs fully seated and installed correctly? Refer
to Chapter 4, “Installing Options” chapter for installation
instructions.
Are all option boards and drives installed correctly? Refer
to Chapter 4, “Installing Options” chapter for installation
instructions.
Is the system hard drive properly formatted or defined?
Is the operating system properly loaded? Refer to the
operating system documentation.
Are all drivers properly installed?
Are the BIOS and Symbios configuration settings correct?

If the above items are all correct, but the problem recurs,
refer to “Additional Troubleshooting Procedures” in this
chapter.
