CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
II. VI/O PWB
1. Video input
(1) Composite video input
The video signal, input from M1001, is amplified by two times at IC1001. Since then, it is output from Pin 1 of
the “YC” connector (at an output impedance of 75
Ω
), and transferred to the VIDEO PWB.
(2) Terminal S input
The video signals Y and C, input from M1002, are amplified by two times respectively at IC1002 and IC1003.
Since then, they are respectively output from Pin 3 and Pin 5 of the “YC” connector (at an output impedance of
75
Ω
), and transferred to the VIDEO PWB.
When a cable is connected to this terminal, the base of Q1001 is short-circuited to GND so that an “L” output
is generated from Pin 8 of the “YC” connector as a discrimination signal of Terminal S connection. When an S2
signal input is entered, the DC signal superposed on the C signal is output from Pin 7 of the “YC” connector,
and transferred to the VIDEO PWB.
2. Component signal input
The YPbPr signal (YCrCb signal) input from M1003, M1004, and M1005 is immediately output to the ANALOG
PWB through the “HD” connector.
3. RGB signal input
(1) Video signal
The RGB video signals input from Pins 1, 2, 3 of M1006 are directly output to the ANALOG PWB through Pin
2, Pin 4, and Pin 6 of the “PC” connector.
(2) Sync signal
The HSYNC signal input from Pin 13 of M1007 is arranged to be about 1.4Vp-p by the circuit consisting of
Q1050, etc. It is then output from Pin 8 of the “PC” connector.
The HSYNC signal input from Pin 14 of M1008 is sync-separated at 0.7 by the circuit of IC1006. It is then
output from Pin 10 of the “PC” connector, maintained approximately at 5.0Vp-p.
(3) Plag and play (PnP) function
IC1004 is a memory IC intended for plag and play. Data exchange is effected between the personal computer
and IC1004 through M1006. SW1001 is a selector switch used to enable or disable the writing of IC1004.
When this switch is moved to the “3” side, writing is enabled. Data writing is effected by connecting an exclu-
sive jig to M1006 in the state writing is enabled. Under normal operation it is set at the “1” side.
4. External control terminal
This system is arranged to enable external control through RS-232C. It is used when an optional tuner unit is
connected or this unit is controlled by the personal computer.
The control signal of RS-232C connected to M1007 is put into interface processing (voltage conversion pro-
cessing) with the outside by the RS-232C driver (IC1007). Since then, it is connected to the microcomputer
(IC6800) through the “RS” connector.
