CABLE CONNECTION
The server switch unit can be connected with one each of display unit, keyboard, and mouse, and up to
eight servers. Using nine server switch units (maximum configuration) in cascade connection, up to
64 servers can be selected.
The server switch unit is connected with a server through the K410-118 or K410-119 cable sold
separately.
The K410-118 cable has a USB connector and a display connector on one end, and D-Sub 15-pin
connector on the other end. The K410-119 cable has a PS/2 connector (for keyboard and for mouse,
in pair) and a display connector on one end and D-Sub 15-pin connector on the other end.
The server switch unit is connected with display unit, keyboard, and mouse directly or through the
K410-104 cable sold separately for extension.
CAUTION
Do not connect any interface cable with the server being powered or the AC cord
being connected.
Make sure to power off the server and unplug the AC cord from an outlet before
connecting/disconnecting the interface cable. If the server is being powered or the
AC cord is plugged to a power source, touching the cable may cause an electric
shock or a fire resulted from a short circuit.
Do not use any unauthorized interface cable.
Use only interface cables specified by NEC and locate a proper device and
connector before connecting a cable. Using an unauthorized cable or connecting
a cable to an improper destination may cause a short circuit, resulting in a fire.
Also, observe the following notes on using and connecting an interface cable.

Do not use any damaged cable connector. Before connecting an interface
cable, confirm that any cable connector is not damaged and any connector pin is
not bent or dirt.

Do not step on the cable.
n
Do not use the server switch unit with loose cable connections.
n
Do not place any object on the cable.
n
Do not disable the locking mechanism of the connectors.
