Operation and Maintenance 

Service representatives subordinate to or authorized by NEC provide services of the cage with use of 
genuine parts and high technical capabilities. You can get the services for your own convenience. 

For the services, contact the NEC sales department or representatives. 

 

Removing or Replacing N8154-21F 

Remove or replace the cage in the following procedure: 

 

1. 

Turn off the power of the server and disconnect the power cables from the receptacles. 

2. 

Remove all the HDDs installed in the cage. 

Notice

 

Before removing HDDs, note the installation order of the HDDs. 

 

3. 

Remove the side cover on the server. Disconnect all the cables from the cage. 

4. 

Open the front door, remove the four screws fixing the cage, and pull out it toward you from the 
server slowly. 

CAUTION

 

 

 

 

Take care not to touch the left and right guide rails inside the cage. 

 

5. 

To replace the cage with new one, perform steps 5 to 8 in "Step 2 Installing N8154-21F in Server", 
and install the removed HDDs into the original slots. 

6. 

Install the removed side cover on the server as it was.
