Names and Functions of Parts
This chapter describes the names of the server parts.
4.1
Front View
(1) Front
bezel
This cover protects the front part of the server. Open the
upper door to access the file bay. Remove this to handle
5.25-inch device, optical disk drive, and Hard Disk Drives.
(2) USB connectors (front)
These connectors are used to connect devices that support
the USB interface.
(3) Optical disk drive
The drive provides the following: an eject button to eject the
tray; an LED that indicates Hard Disk Drive access; and an
eject hole for forcibly ejecting the tray
(4) 5.25-inch device bay
The bay where two drives such as optional DAT drives can
be installed. The bay is equipped with EMI brackets.
(5) Disk access LED (green)
This LED lights green when the internal Hard Disk Drive or
optical disk drive is being accessed.
(6) Power LED (green)
This LED lights green when the power is ON.
(7) POWER
switch
The switch to turn the server on and off. Press once to turn
on the server. The POWER LED lights green when it is on.
Press it again to turn off the server. Hold down the switch
for 4 seconds or more to forcibly turn off the server.
(8) Status
LED
(green/amber)
This LED indicates the server status. It lights green when
the server is operating normally. If an abnormality is
detected, it turns on or flashes amber.
(9) Release tabs (3 at side of front bezel)
Tabs to unlock the front bezel. Pull up to disengage the
front bezel.
