1801-Door Chime
If enabled in 0202-Door Chime Over Page, External Paging can broadcast Door Box chime types 1,
2, and 3. External Paging will not broadcast chime type 0.
Operation
To answer Door Box chimes you hear over External Paging speakers:

Converse with the Door Box caller.
Keyset users can press the FLASH key or the OPEN and RLS soft keys to control the
Door Box relay.
Background Music Over Page
Background Music (BGM) can optionally play over the External Paging speakers while Paging is
idle. BGM will automatically turn off while Paging, ringing or Door Box chimes broadcast from
the external zone, and restart when the external zone again becomes idle. If Door Box chimes, ring-
ing, and Background Music are all programmed to output over External Paging, the system uses the
following broadcast priority:

●
Door Box chimes
●
Ringing
●
Background Music
Note: Background Music and External Paging require additional customer-provided equipment.
Refer to your the Hardware Manual that came with your system for more.
Programming
0201-Background Music
Enable this option (Y) to enable Background Music system-wide. If disabled (N), BGM will never
play over the External Paging zone (regardless of the setting of 0202-Background Music Over
Page below). By default, this option is enabled (Y).
0202-Background Music Over Page
Enable this option (Y) to have Background Music (if installed) play over the system’s External Pag-
ing zone. Disable this option (N) if you don’t want Background Music to play over the system’s
External Paging zone. By default, this option is disabled (N).
