Chapter 8: Maintaining Your Printer
This chapter explains the basic maintenance and
cleaning procedures you must follow to maintain
high print quality and efficient operation of your
NEC SuperScript 1260 printer.
Information on spare parts ordering and NEC
service agreements is found in Chapter 10, “Get-
ting Service and Support”.
Redistributing the Toner
The toner in one disposable toner cartridge lasts
for approximately 6,000 pages at 5% black
coverage. When the shading of the print output
becomes lighter, the cartridge needs to be
replaced or the toner needs to be redistributed.
To redistribute the toner, perform the following
steps.
1. Turn the power switch off.
2. Push the top cover lock release lever and raise
the top cover gently.
