System Operation
Starting Up the System
Start up the server system as follows.
1.
Make sure all external devices, such as the console, keyboard, and mouse
have been connected, and the power cords are connected (see the previous
section, “Setting Up the Server”).
2.
Turn on the circuit breaker or main switch to the system power source.
Note:
If the server power cord is connected to a power
control unit such as an UPS (Uninterruptive Power Supply),
make sure that the power control unit is powered on.
3.
Power on the console and any other external devices.
4.
At the rear of the server cabinet, turn on the AC power circuit breaker for the
Main Chassis (see Figure 2-3), and if installed, for the optional PCIX Unit
(see Figure 2-4).
